Inspired by the belief that art makes the world a better place, Mill Cabin offers a 7 night residency each year. The residency program offers time and space for contemplation, creation and the development of new or existing work.
This residency is entirely self—directed and it will be just you and the (outside) wildlife for 7 nights. Please note, the cabin is on a 15 acre sub-alpine bush block and is 15 minutes from Jindabyne.
At the end of the residency, we ask artists to leave behind a statement about their experience along with a small piece of artwork or sketch, creating a subtle legacy that connects future visitors and residents to the creative history of Mill Cabin.
It is the responsibility of the artist to buy their own food and arrange their own travel to and from Mill Cabin. There is an artist easel on site but all other materials must be supplied by the artist.
This residency is held in the month of September and is open to artists living in Australia and working in the discipline of Fine Art, Ceramics, Textiles and Sculpture.
To apply simply fill out the below and tell us a little about your practice and what you would like to get out of a one week residency at Mill Cabin.
Please note, we prefer links to your work whether it be your website or instagram, however if you do not have either please email with a small attachment—files must be kept small to: millcabin.crackenback@gmail.com
We thank you for taking the time to express your interest, while we would love to reply to each and every entry it is unfortunately beyond our administrative capacity. We will however be in touch with the successful artist as soon as we have selected a successful entrant.
Entries will close Midnight on the 31st of March 2026.
